Macrame Bookmark: Classic Pattern
This is one of the most common macrame patterns and a great beginer project. It only involves two knots. Lets get into it.
Supplies:
Jumbo 4 inch paper clip (available in bulk on Amazon, Office stores, and Hobby Lobby)
3mm cotton cord
Scissors
Ruler
Brush (Pet brush or comb work great)
Directions:
Step 1: Gather supplies and cut 3 cords at 30 inches.
Step 2: Attach the 3 cords to the bottom of the paper clip with a larks head knot.
Step 3: Divide them in half and grab the outermost cord to create your lead cord for diagonal clove hitch knots.
Step 4: Make diagonal clove hitch knots starting at the top of both ends and link them together in the center. This will form a “V” shape.
Step 5: Make at least 2 rows (or as many as you want).
Step 6: Trim and brush and then trim again till you like the length.
Step 7: All done! Now pop it in a book!

Notes: If you want more rows, add about 6 extra inches to your additional length per row.
